Edina Primary Care Ltd has developed a new business model for general practice to support the longer term sustainability of the current contractor arrangements by providing and managing core, enhanced and additional services within general practices nationally.

Our programme is centred on the provision of GMS or PMS contracts and working with identified general practices to improve cost management, streamline staffing, reduce temporary staffing and introduce additional properly funded NHS services.

Edina Primary Care works proactively and positively with local commissioners to ensure resilient, sustainable and stable primary care, with patient-centred care being the key driver to the work that we undertake.

With our workforce partner we  endeavour to improve cost management, streamline staffing and reduce temporary staffing, whilst ensuring that you are never short-staffed.

GP income

We ensure partners in our Practices as a minimum earn what they are earning now before we work to increase revenues, which in turn are then reflected in the remuneration of our teams.

Additional services

Within our team we have significant experience of introducing additional, properly funded, NHS services which target alleviating workload pressure by gaining patients rapid access to services that have long hospital waits.

Patient-centred care

Our focus is on delivering a high quality and standardised complete pathway approach, without unwarranted variation. The pathways will then place the right patient, in the right place, at the right time, with the right healthcare professional and with the right resources to deliver the care required.

To ensure a collective and inclusive approach to developing the service, Edina Primary Care offers existing GP Partners an equity stake in the company running their contract and the profits of the business, consistent with mutuality thinking, bringing strong social values into our services.

As a team we work to rejuvenate list based general practice in the NHS by focussing on both resolving the workforce crisis and enabling high-quality responsive health and care with reduced unwarranted variation within the sector.

This includes new ways of working and extending the introduction of new services, with the aim of retaining, developing and where necessary recruiting, well-motivated and engaged practice teams. The scaled-up size of jointly managed registered populations means that portfolio work and shared staff can be realised and includes the ability to extend the range of community services provided.

Our work and focus will see the introduction of fully integrated service delivery.

For those practices engaging with Edina Primary Care, the company will take on the running of the individual practices, their buildings, the staff and the core contract with the NHS, along with all associated elements of primary care contracting in which the practice participates.
